One of America's most gifted tenors, his numerous appearances include Minnesota Opera, Seattle Opera, Washington Opera, New York City Opera, Baltimore Opera, Staatsoper Hamburg, Theátre Royal de la Monnaie and L'Opera de Montreal. He's currently making a much-anticpated return to Europe in 2009 as Don Jose in Carmen for the Finnish National Opera.

One of the finest tenors to have emerged from America in recent years, Joseph Wolverton first came to international attention by winning the Opera Company of Philadelphia’s Pavarotti Competition. His debut as ALFREDO in La Traviata with Minnesota Opera and Opera Colorado and his subsequent PAUL in Krasa’s Verlobung im Traum with Washington Opera, and PINKERTON Madama Butterfly with New York City Opera have consolidated an impressive international career, delighting audiences worldwide.
European highlights have included EDGARDO at the Gran Teatro del Liceo Barcelona, NEMORINO L’elisir d’amore with Hamburgische Staatsoper, the title role in WERTHER in Malaga, CAVARADOSSI at Théatre Royal de la Monnaie, and ROBERTO Le Villi and TURIDDU for Opera Bergen. His concert repertoire includes Beethoven’s Missa Solemnis and Ninth Symphony, Berlioz’s Requiem, Mahler’s Eighth Symphony and Verdi’s Requiem, which he has performed with orchestras such as Chicago Symphony Orchestra, Detroit Symphony, Buffalo Philharmonic, and Indianapolis Symphony.
Recent successes include NEMORINO for L'Opéra de Montréal, PINKERTON for New Orleans Opera and Opera Grand Rapids, CAVARADOSSI Dallas Opera, DUCA Tulsa Opera, POLLIONE Fort Worth Opera, CAVARADOSSI, ROMEO both Umeå, Sweden, FAUST Utah Opera and Malmö, Sweden, RODOLFO La Boheme for Phoenix Opera, EDGARDO at Opera Carolina and CAVARADOSSI at the Royal Albert Hall, London.
In recognition of his work The Amici di Verdi Society recently invited him to perform a recital at the Salone di Barezzi in Busseto, Italy, while his already impressive discography includes Mascagni’s Silvano, which is currently available on CD from Elysium Records.
