She shot to fame in 1995 after her debut in the title role of La Traviata at the Teatro Real, Madrid alongside the legendary Alfredo Kraus as Alfredo. Successively she has performed this role over 150 times in many theatres in Europe, including Grand Théatre de Genève, Staatstheater Braunschweig, Teatro Verdi Trieste, Teatro Nuovo di Udine, Teatro Comunale Piacenza, Stadttheater St Gallen, Opéra Royale de Wallonie Liège, Staatstheater and Festival Wiesbaden, Oper Leipzig, Deutsche Oper Berlin, Vlaamse Opera, Antwerpen, Theater Bremen and Teatro Argentina di Roma.
She went on to make her debut as AMELIA Simon Boccanegra at the New Israeli Opera Tel Aviv and MIMI La Bohème at the Puccini Festival in Torre del Lago, Teatro Real Madrid, Teatro dell’Opera di Roma, Teatro Grande Brescia, Oper Köln and the Rendano Teatro Coscenza. In addition she has been critically-acclaimed for the role of LUISA MILLER, which she has performed in Amsterdam, Zürich, Edinburgh Festival (co-produced with Covent Garden), Berlin, Essen and De Vlaamse Opera.
Her Mozartean repertoire includes ASPASIA Mitridate for L’Opera de Genève and Opernhaus Zürich; FIORDILIGI Così fan tutte directed by Giorgio Strehler in Milan, Reggio Emilia, Rouen, Tokyo, at the Festivals of Santander, Peralada while she appeared as Fiordiligi at Wiesbaden with Philippe Arlaud. Other appearances have included Caen, Nancy and at the Baden-Baden Festival and more recently she sang the role of DONNA ANNA Don Giovanni at Nationaltheater Mannheim.
Her concert appearances have included Segovia Festival, Auditorio Nacional de Musica Madrid, Henry Crown Hall Jerusalem, and the Performing Arts Centre Tel Aviv in repertoire as diverse as Verdi’s Requiem, Mozart’s Requiem, the Messe solennelle (St Caecilia) by Gounod, Rossini’s Stabat Mater, Mozart’s Vesperae Solennes de Confessore, and in Firenze with the Orchestra Regionale Toscana some arias from Gluck’s Alceste and the famous Aria “Ah, perfido” op 64 by Beethoven.
Most recent successes include LUISA MILLER for Oper Leipzig and MARGUERITE Faust for Dijon Opera and VIOLETTA for Deutsche Oper Berlin.
