Recent superb performances as Belmonte in the Landestheater Salzburg's production of Die Entführung aus dem Serail have consolidated Mark Milhofer's position as one of Europe's most stylish and accomplished artists. Much anticipated appearances in forthcoming seasons include Mayr's Medea in Corinto for the Theater St Gallen, Narraboth for the Teatro Comunale di Bologna and a return to the Teatro Regio di Torino as Bob Boles in their 2010 production of Peter Grimes.

With a combination of masterful interpretation and skilled technical ability, Mark Milhofer’s international reputation rightly places him among the premiere artists of his generation. Recent highlights have included Pylade in Gluck’s Iphigenie en Tauride (Royal Opera, Covent Garden), Telamone (Vivaldi’s Ercole sul Termodonte) and Prunier (Puccini’s La Rondine), both for La Fenice in Venice, and the title role in Offenbach’s Orphée aux enfers (Cagliari Opera, Sardinia). Future engagements include Flute (Britten’s A Midsummer Night’s Dream for the Teatro Comunale di Bologna) and Belmonte (Die Entfuhrung) in Salzburg, as well as numerous concert appearances throughout the UK.
Mark Milhofer made his professional debut as Gianetto in Rossini's La Gazza Ladra for British Youth Opera. He studied with Renata Scotto and Leyler Gencer in Italy, before going on to sing the roles of Fenton (Verdi’s Falstaff) and Don Ramiro (Rossini's La Cenerentola), conducted by Alberto Zedda and directed by Pier-Luigi Pizzi in Parma.
Other highlights have included Don Narciso (Rossini’s Il Turco in Italia) for the Teatro Regio di Torino, Il Conte di Bosco Nero (Wolf-Ferrari's La Vedova Scaltra) at La Fenice, Jean Cocteau (Panni's The Banquet) for the Teatro dell' Opera in Rome, Almaviva (Rossini’s Il Barbiere di Seviglia) in Dario Fo's highly successful European production, Dorvil (Rossini's La Scala di Seta) in France conducted by Jean-Claude Malgoire, Belmonte (Mozart’s Die Entführung aus dem Serail) in Italy, Ernesto (Donizetti's Don Pasquale) in Belgium and Ferrando (Mozart's Così fan tutte), in Giorgio Strehler's renowned production in Beijing and Moscow – having already appeared in over 80 performances throughout Europe.
His concert appearances have included Britten’s Serenade for Tenor, Horn and Strings in Parma (conducted by Bruno Bartoletti), Orff's Carmina Burana with the Orchestra di Santa Cecilia in Rome and Rossini's Petite Messe Solennelle for the Aldeburgh Festival. In addition he has appeared in recital at the Queen Elizabeth and Wigmore Halls in London, in Milan with I Pomeriggi Musicale, and made his Proms début in Handel's Judas Maccabeus with The King's Consort.
