Cristina-Antoaneta Pasaroiu Soprano

The young Romanian soprano, Cristina-Antoaneta Pasaroiu, has made an explosive entrance onto the operatic scene, with exceptionally well received performances as both MIMI and MICAELA at the Teatro Comunale di Bologna.

Born 1986 in Bucharest, Cristina-Antoaneta Pasaroiu started her vocal studies at the early age of 12 at the Bucharest Conservatory. She continued her training at the Geneva Conservatory followed by the Milan Conservatory.
Participation in numerous master-classes with prominent figures such as Jaime Aragall, Joseph Protschka, Alain Garichot, Mariana Nicolesco, Renato Palumbo, David Livermore, Alfonso Antoniozzi, Dolora Zajick, Ileana Cotrubas, Francisco Araiza and Renata Scotto have allowed her to perfect her vocal technique and stage craft.
Winner of many national and international competitions, including Hariclea Darclée in Bucharest, J. Brahms in Austria, Franz Schubert in Bulgaria, Ferruccio Tagliavini in Austria and the Luciano Pavarotti Competition in Modena, Cristina made her operatic debut as MIMI at the Bucharest Opera in 2007.
Having entered the Scuola dell’Opera in Bologna in 2008, Cristina made her Italian debut as MAGDA in La Rondine alongside José Cura in early 2009. Other appearances have included ILIA in Idomeneo, VITELLIA in La Clemenza di Tito and MICAELA in Carmen.
A regular guest on the concert platform, Cristina has delighted audiences across Europe performing in Geneva, Vienna, Milan, Graz, London, Parma.
Recent successes have included a recording with Elīna Garanča for Deutsche Grammophon and MIMI in La Bohème at Teatro Comunale Di Bologna.
